a) Setting up appropriate equipment

Green screen

Tripod and camera
The green screen was fully retracted, standing up straight and a reasonable distance from the camera. When it was a windy day, we got someone to stand behind and hold it up.

The Canon camera was screwed onto a tripod. The tripod was retracted to its medium height and perched on the ground. The cameraman stands behind the camera, using the handle sticking out to do some slow pan shots. However, some shots didn’t use the tripod, which meant the cameraman held it with their hands as steady as possible with the strap around their neck.
b) Following script

During filming, I kept checking the script and storyboard. For example, for the dialogue, I let Sam (the actor) know what his lines were, and what actions he had to perform. Then I would tell the group that we need a long shot of the drone hovering in the sky as they talk for about 10 seconds. So, I recorded the sky for 10 seconds. This also applied for when Sam is talking to the drone, I had to tell him to prolong his dialogue and count in his head to make it easier when it came to editing. For some scenes, I tended to change the scene up slightly, such as having the camera in a different position.
c) Following safe working practices

We followed a safe working practice. For example, the cameraman had a strap around his neck in case of dropping the camera and damaging it. When we had the green screen up on a windy day, to prevent it blowing away or falling over, we had someone stand behind it and hold it during the shot.

d) Following production process

During planning, I learnt how to model a drone in Maya, use ‘Keylight’ in After Effects and did an in-depth research on camera angles and shots. We went out and practiced with our new knowledge, fully editing and rendering out multiple draft edits. As for the production stage, we started filming. As a group, we went out to film the final shots, and I was the cameraman and cinematographer. We successfully came back with good shots and green screen footage. After filming, we all individually edited our own footage. We did this by sharing the files online, making it easily accessible for everyone to download them. After everyone had their own edit complete, as a group we reviewed each of the edits, and agreed that Sam’s was the best. Therefore, we all took Sam’s edit and now use his edit for our final edit.
