a) What do the titles tell you about the story or tone of the film/TV program
b) What visual effects were used in making the sequence?
The Punisher:
a) The titles show lots of guns and the rorschach test. The use of guns tells you that the tv programs tone is related to lots of violence:

The gun use also tells you that the main character is American as America has lots of guns. As for the rorschach test images, this is interesting because it's hard to notice unless you understood what the show is about, which is showing that the main character most likely isn't in a good state of mind currently and is being examined by a psychologist to examine their personality characteristics and emotional functioning. Here is an example:

This also tells us that something could have happened to the main character in the past that was traumatic. The music is very intense and catchy, with the rock style playing which links to violence. The black and white colours, with the static effect, gives the viewer a sense of danger and unease.
b) The entire sequence uses CGI images that move round lots of guns, with a grainy black and white overlay which, again, tells you that the tone is violence. Lots of animation is used during the rorschach test, with lots of graphics involved too such as smoke and ink. There aren't any images of people, but instead focuses all on bullets and close up shots of guns.
Game of Thrones:
a) The titles show you a map of the tv show, giving the viewer a good understanding before even watching the show where about the location is set.

The tone uses very olden-day colours such as dark green and brown that resemble the 15th century, telling you the era it's set in. Furthermore, the board game theme is a good representation of why it has it's name, with each building rising out of the ground, to show rising empires:

This hints to the viewer that the tv show is related to a battle for power. In my opinion, the most important part is the music because this hints to the viewer exactly the era it's in with the old violin sounds and battle themed music, which is also exciting the viewer. At each stage of the title, it shows different animals showing the different kingdoms and empires in the show. This shows to the audience that there are different empires and hints a battle. Furthermore, the olden day-styled text with the gold as seen in the photo above, works well with the story and again sets the 15th century tone to the audience.
b) The title sequence is all CGI animation, with small animated buildings rising above the ground with a clock-work theme. There are no people in the title sequence too, instead it's almost like a chess game on a map. The main title is animated very well, with the realistic looking fire, shadows and reflections.
Skyfall:
a) The title shows some of James Bond's dark memories in one short piece. At the start, James Bond is shot and as soon as he falls into the water, the music starts to play. The music is very intense and cinematic, with a great orchestra and singer. As soon as the music starts and the female grabs his hand, this tells the viewer that the famous title sequence is about to start, as it is slightly abnormal and strange. The female is shown here to show James Bonds well known interest for women - again, giving the viewer nostalgia in previous films. The tone is very dark, with washed out colours and lots of red to resemble blood - telling the viewer that there will be a lot of violence. Furthermore, there are lots of guns, knives, bullets and death in general. The part where a young James Bond looks through a small hole in a wall resembles his past dark memories. This is important because the whole title sequence contains these subtle hints that are hard to notice, this one being important because you can tell it's Daniel Craig with his distinctive bright blue eyes, which sets the tone for sadness or bereavement:

Then, right at the end, it shows James Bond peering through the same hole, but it's now him as an adult and not a young boy. This tells the viewer again a sense of a dark past and that the tone is dark in general because you can see in his eyes how much he's gone through.

The title sequence also uses rorschach here to show that James Bond isn't in a good state of mind, hinting to the viewer what his emotions are currently like:

b) The title sequence uses a range of CGI animation, still images, extreme close ups and abnormally large/small objects and people. The CGI looks very good, with short clips that smoothly transition back into the opening title again. For example, when the opening title cuts to a gun being fired, the shot goes through the bullet and into another scene. The randomness and unexpected scenes like this gives the viewer a sense of the story/tone of the overall film they're about to see - more importantly exciting them with what's to come.
